Today was just chaos. Surprisingly, I only saw one person reviewing today. The service was really bad — there was confusion between the back and front staff, and I waited over an hour for my food. In the end, I couldn’t wait any longer and requested a refund. The supervisor or manager refunded my money, but before that she said she remembered making my order a long time ago. She then asked if she could try to find it and whether I still wanted it. I said yes. She looked for it but came back with nothing, so I assume my order was accidentally given to someone else, and she refunded me instead. Most people were waiting between 1 to 1.5 hours. The drive-thru line was also very long with lots of complaints. The staff need more training. Only one girl at the front was calling out order numbers loudly — the rest looked like they didn’t even want to be there and weren’t even calling the order numbers properly.

Still relies on a team of under 20 year old people who have no real connection to the food. They follow the process. Cold chips under cooked. They are definitely on my emergency food list.
Worst McDonald’s I’ve been to. Ordered at 8:40 and still hadn’t received our meal by 9:30, even though we had an exam to get to. When I politely asked if we could at least take the bottled water from the meal since we were in a rush, the female staff member with glasses rudely replied, “You just wait for the meal.” Excuse me?? Raised it with the manager and she was completely dismissive — gave a quick “sorry” and walked off without even asking what happened or which staff member was involved. Terrible service from both staff and management. If you don’t enjoy your job and lack basic management and customer service skills, please don’t damage the brand.

My experience at the Kingsford McDonald’s was honestly one of the worst I’ve ever had. The entire situation felt completely unacceptable from start to finish. The quality of the food was poor, the service was disorganised, and the overall experience was incredibly frustrating. I had ordered food for my 8-year-old’s birthday—McDonald’s is usually his favourite, so this was meant to be something special. Instead, it turned into a really upsetting experience. His meal didn’t include the advertised items—no nuggets and none of the exclusive toys he had been excited about all day. He ended up in tears, which was honestly heartbreaking over something that should have been simple to get right. On top of that, parts of our order were missing—five portions of chips, two drinks, and even a McFlurry were not included. That’s a huge portion of the order just gone, with no explanation or refund offered. It’s not acceptable to pay for items and simply not receive them. The wait time was also ridiculous. We waited 45 minutes, only to receive an incomplete and incorrect order. My triple cheeseburger was downgraded to a single without any notice. Meanwhile, the store was overcrowded, and many other customers were returning to the counter with similar complaints about missing food. To make things worse, this isn’t even a one-time issue. Just two days prior, my son waited 30 minutes for a single soft serve, only to be told at the end that the ice cream machine wasn’t working. The way this was handled was unprofessional and dismissive. Overall, the staff came across as rude and unorganised, and the entire operation felt poorly managed. Customers deserve better—especially when paying for food that isn’t even fully delivered. I would not recommend this location at all. Major improvements in customer service, organisation, and quality control are needed.

I had a cheese burger and the only thing that I tasted was the burnt of the inner burger buns 30/04/2026 I was waiting for my meal by the counter. There was a young girl serving a customer. The customer was trying to explain that he had forgotten his order number, but he knew what he had ordered and showed her the bank transaction on his phone. The girl seemed annoyed and handed the food to him abruptly. The customer asked a question to confirm if it was the correct order, but the girl responded with an attitude, saying, “What else do you want? Just take it!” In another situation, the same girl was calling out order numbers. A woman heard her number and walked up to the counter, saying it was hers and showing the receipt on her phone. The worker told her it wasn’t her order. They went back and forth, with the customer insisting it was hers while the worker kept saying no. Eventually, the worker checked the receipt and the order number, looked at the order, and then handed it to her.

I placed my order at 4:36 PM and arrived at 5:00 PM. When I couldn’t find my order, I asked the staff to check and waited another 20 minutes. Eventually, I was told that my meal had already been disposed of “as usual.” What’s even more confusing is that the staff claimed the 4:36 PM timestamp on my phone was the time the meal was prepared, not when I placed the order. This explanation makes no sense and was never clearly communicated. Customers are often expected to wait 10–15 minutes for their food, yet my paid order was discarded after I was only slightly late, with no prior notice of any pickup time limit. No clear policy, no communication, and no proper solution offered (such as a remake or refund). This is unacceptable service from McDonald’s
I've been to a lot a maccies in my time. This is the worst. Absolutely terrible. Massive ques, people taking random food due to the century long wait. Staff suck, rather go hungry.

Ordered online at 7pm couldn't believe the queue!! I think the whole of UNSW eat here. Had to wait 15 mins. But food was great.
Failure of basic service at every stage of the order. Don't bother to pay in cash. The staff will relegate your order to collect and amass soft drinks for unfulfilled orders and delay its process in the system. Then they will miss the ticket because it's printed differently and wait over 15 minutes for a fillet 'o fish burger. The burger itself. Lukewarm, because it was left unattended. What's the point of it being prepared "fresh"? Assembled typical of the average Australian teenage labour standard, which regularly struggles to put together a burger and distribute sauce evenly. Why does drive-thru, uber eats, and digital payments get priority? And why does everyone seem to be waiting for an extraordinarily long time and staff look burnt out at 10pm? I fondly came to this maccas in the 2010s in my undergrad (which was also busy) and never waited this long or been so disappointed. Not was it ever this littered.
The worst McDonald’s around. This is our local and usually fine we get it’s fast food but recently it’s been inedible and disgusting. Multiple occasions We had caramel sundaes that were sour and rotten. we’ve had chicken nuggets that were spicy for some reason , assuming it was extremely overused rancid oil. Chips that smell like pee. Absolutely terrible. Airport one is much better.
Just came in and they gave me cold chips, literally chips that were holding for more than 15 minutes, the coke was just gas water, there is no reason to be open 24hours if you gonna serve the worst quality food possible overnight please train your overnight staff better there were literally 5 costumers

They’re so incompetent they missed my order more than ten times, giving me big mac, quarter pounder instead of double big mac, double quarter pounder. I don’t know whether they do it on purpose or not but in any case they’re the most stupid employees I’ve seen in a restaurant.
Service in drive through was quick and easy.
The restaurant is dirty and the person at the counter was coughing on the food and forgetting to include everything that people had ordered. When you order on the machines you don’t get a printed receipt either and you definitely need one because they always forget to pack something in the bag that you ordered and the queue takes forever.
I ordered 30 minutes ago and they claim to have never gotten my order. The food has not been made and the service is terrible as they won’t help me and won’t give me my food. They keep on walking away and not answering the questions would not come back!
Staff works super slow. Talking at the back I go there often as it s closest Macdonald to my place but the situation s the same all the time. Tables are always messy and dirty. Bins always full. They only focus on drive through and just don’t care.

If it were possible, this would be a zero-star rating. I ordered a Classic Angus burger, but what I got was shit. The burger was missing two slices of tomato — in fact, there were no tomatoes at all — and the bun was burnt. The staff were rude and refused to exchange the order or acknowledge their mistake.
Your unclear parking terms and conditions have cost me 70 bucks, went into the McDonald’s for a nice meal with friends and come out to see a parking ticket on my car. Filed an appeal against these grubs who obviously take advantage of other people and they told me you must scan the QR code to “claim the free hour of parking”???? Would common sense not be that the free hour of parking in huge bold letters is assumed and if parking is needed to be paid for then you scan the code to pay for it? What an absolute joke. Just a warning to everyone else. Will not be back here.

Orders a thick shake handed to me melted. Asked for another handed me another was melted ice cream. And I asked for a chocolate one to be given a frothy vanilla one that looks like it went through the blender. Went in store manager aged 13 stated it was to the standards refusing to give me a refund for a sloppy vanilla thick shake.absolutely no chocolate in it what so ever. Milk shakes is what they are serving but a frothy kind. Too much salt on burger paddy’s staff need to be educated on manner of customers are always right and know what a chocolate thick shake is and report faulty machines. Back chatting to a customer when we are paying for a product that isn’t what I call a thick shake but s slop shake.

Every single bin is overflowing, rubbish left on tables and no one is clearing them for the 30min that I was there and it’s not busy. Only relatively clean area was the outdoor dining space. About 5 staff members on site, and the place looks absolutely filthy.
Bought 4 cheeseburgers (no pickles). Cheeseburger came with no cheese with pickles. (And some weird viscous white liquid on one of them.)
It took me thirty minutes to get my happy meal, wrong sizes and a completely different meal.
I don’t know how the McDonald's - Kingsford manages to get orders wrong almost every single time, but somehow they’ve mastered it. It’s honestly impressive at this point. Every visit is a gamble. You order something simple — somehow they forget fries. Ask for no pickles? Extra pickles. Order nuggets? No sauce. It’s like they’re playing a completely different game behind the counter. I’ve checked my bag more times in that car park than I care to admit, because if you drive off without checking, congratulations — you’re not getting what you paid for. The service feels rushed, chaotic, and completely careless. It doesn’t matter if it’s busy or dead quiet, the result is the same: wrong items, missing items, or food thrown together like it lost a fight on the way into the box. For a place that’s meant to be fast and reliable, Kingsford Maccas consistently delivers the opposite. At this point, getting the correct order feels like winning the lottery. Do better. Seriously.

Seriously I have never been to a McDonald's that's messes orders up as much as these guys. I don't like going when I'm on night shift either but it doesn't mean my meal should be messed up as has happened on 3 occasions now. Lesson learnt check your order.

Very disappointing parking experience. I dined at this restaurant twice in one day (lunch and dinner) and correctly registered parking via the app both times. I was charged $18 because the 1-hour free parking is limited to once per day. I contacted the car park management and provided meal receipts to show I was a genuine customer, but they refused to refund the charge. This policy feels unfair to repeat diners and really detracts from an otherwise pleasant dining experience.

They also made my other burger with all the ingredients I requested to have removed and when I went to ask them to remake it, I copped attitude from the female worker with frizzy curly hair. I also an order an ice cream cone which took them way too long to get it out I witnessed the workers walking around drinking their drinks. After about 10 minutes someone came and asked me if I had my order I did not and it took them another 5 minutes to bring me my ice cream. While my friend had to go up and ask where her order was and it still took them 5 more minutes to bring it. I am very disappointed in the service of this restaurant.

I never do reviews but this called for nothing less today I went to maccas Kingsford drive through ordered an el Maco burger the girl threw the burger on the counter and the other girl gave me the burger in bag which felt like nothing so I checked the bag seen the box opened it and there was a bun,cheeseburger meat Pattie,cheese and no sauce so I asked the girl isn’t it meant to be a Big Mac with tomatoe and different sauce she looked at it and said yes took the burger and told me to go to next window after long wait came back with burger I checked it and couldn’t believe my eyes they cut the burger Pattie in half and put it back on same burger like as if the money was coming out of their own pockets for the extra meat Pattie I paid for I am still in shock at what they did and can’t believe they get away with this shit never eat here again ever who knows what they are doing to your food I just find it weird that they don’t want to give you what you have paid for or maybe it’s just to hard to do their job properly and they should not work there full stop.

Stopped in here for lunch on our way home to Wollongong. The food came out hot and fresh which was a nice surprise compared to other McDonald's Restaurants I've been to. Tables needed to be cleaned a little more often as it was a little hard to find an empty clean table but it was very busy so maybe that's why no one had cleaned the tables in a while. The booths and soft arm chairs was a nice surprise to what we're used to down in the Illawarra. It just made our visit much more comfortable. I'd recommend this McDonald's to anyone who is around there.
Usually drive through for morning coffee and usually fine. But came at 9.30pm at night and worst service. Teenagers at back helping their teen friends. Half the staff gossiping. All chips served super cold. Got my order wrong. Flung the order bag across. No manners. Watched them throw out like 7 bags of hotchips as they went cold. Worst service. Spent 20 dollars and only got half my order. Rest was stone cold had to throw out.
Had issues with the app which didn't process my order and then had to wait 30 minutes just for a McFlurry and Large Fries while everyone else who ordered after me got full meals. Asked for an update and got ignored. Asked the second time after 10 minutes and my order ended up being in the back.
Went through drive through at around 3pm on a Sunday. The drive through didn’t appear super busy when I went in but still had to wait a while at the ordering box and the pay window. I just ordered a small frozen coke no sugar and when I finished my order the person said “thank you for no thank you”. I was so confused, I didn’t know what he was trying to say or if I heard him wrong. I wasn’t rude when ordering, maybe I didn’t say thank you? When I went up to the pay station, they had my order incorrect and I had to correct them. Finally, my frozen coke was really dry and icy. I couldn’t even use the straw to drink it I had to spoon it.
7/07/25 *Blatantly lied to as the Filet'O'Fish Buns are NOT steamed anymore at this location + the fries were raw* I have been going to Maccas since 1990 and to this particular drive-thru for around 25yrs. Now 2 changes to Maccas are not the fault of this one: (1) The prices are a lot higher (2) The Filet'O'Fish burger is smaller. Not only is the bun smaller, but the fish used to sit outside of it; now it's a smaller bun and the fish is well within + they give you less cheese. This change started around 1-2yrs ago now at all McDonald's (though they publicly deny it). Shrinkflation baby! That said, I assume (A) to save costs eg upkeep of the specialised steamer and (B) to save the 15 or so seconds in the steamer, a lot of Maccas locations-esp at airports and Drive-Thrus-now just toast the fish burger like all of their others. It's a massive change after 3+ decades of having a soft bun to go to this awful hard tasteless thing. So...I usually make a 'special order' and ask for the bun to be steamed. The last couple of x here they've done it, however today, I made the order, asked for confirmation it was steamed at the pick-up window and proceeded to park....NOT steamed! So, I left the car, went inside and asked at the counter for a new one and for it to be steamed. 30sec later the girl comes back saying "It's as steamed as it can be". I then asked to speak to the Manager, who then proceeded to blatantly lie to my face, saying that the "buns come in already steamed" (again, they'resupposed to haveca special steamer in every store); I then heard him asking for another Filet'O'Fish (no mention of streaming). He then hands me the burger with a wry smile on his face...NOT steamed! To top it all off, the fries at Kingsford Drive-Thru have been terrible, usually soggy and/or burnt. They used to be excellent here, crisp, well cooked, well seasoned, but for some reason it changed around 2-3 years ago. Usually I ask for them to be made "fresh to order" but didn't today and what did I receive?...the now expected soggy overcooked fries, but with the addition of RAW and undercooked fries! After the whole Filet'O'Fish ordeal I wasn't going back inside, so I ended up throwing it away...the first time in over 35years of eating McDonald's that I've ever had to do that. Terrible and inedible/uncooked food, extorniate prices, bad customer service filled with lies about their steaming process, as well as the sad realisation that it has come to this, when for so many years this particular Maccas truly was excellent. Avoid.
DO NOT EAT HERE! I ordered a delivery from Kingsford McDonald’s for my child and myself. When the order arrived 35mins later. I live 2mins down the road. I was appalled to find my cheeseburger filled with charcoal grime and grease all over the burger. Disgusting how can your staff think it’s acceptable to food poison people and waste their money. This store needs to be reported to food health & safety.
